Key Responsibilities
Sales Management and Strategy
- Develop, implement and continuously refine an effective and sustainable used vehicle sales strategy aimed at increasing market share, profitability and overall departmental performance.
- Facilitate the full sales process, ensuring alignment with company objectives, dealer standards and customer satisfaction benchmarks.
- Establish, review and enforce dealer operating standards, policies and procedures for both sales and marketing activities.
- Set, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long-term sales targets and performance indicators.
- Drive achievement of sales volumes, revenue growth and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) targets.
- Provide hands-on support to dealerships and sales teams, assisting with deal structuring, pricing strategies and closing of high-value transactions.
- Identify new business opportunities, growth markets and underperforming areas, and implement corrective actions where required.
Marketing and Market Development
- Manage the planning and execution of marketing and promotional campaigns in line with corporate strategy and brand positioning.
- Ensure the timely distribution and effective use of marketing material, product information, promotional tools and communication schedules.
- Keep dealers fully informed on product updates, marketing campaigns, finance schemes, incentives and special offers.
- Conduct ongoing market and competitor analysis, including penetration levels, segmentation, pricing trends, trading practices and product strategies.
- Develop a deep understanding of the South African automotive and commercial vehicle market environment and its impact on sales performance.
- Provide professional guidance to dealers in compiling and executing business and marketing plans to achieve sales growth and CSI objectives.
- Evaluate the success of marketing initiatives through sales performance tracking and feedback, and recommend improvements where necessary.
Reporting and Performance Monitoring
- Compile and maintain accurate and comprehensive sales reports for management review.
- Ensure timely collection and verification of sales data from all dealerships.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including quotations issued, finance applications submitted, approvals obtained and vehicles delivered.
- Update and maintain all reporting data on the company server and relevant systems.
- Analyse sales trends, variances and performance gaps, and provide actionable insights to management and dealer principals.
Communication and Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain effective communication with clients to understand their needs, expectations and concerns.
- Ensure high standards of after-sales communication and follow-up with customers to promote retention and repeat business.
- Manage and resolve customer care queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide continuous support and guidance to sales consultants in their interaction with customers and in closing sales.
- Ensure clear, consistent and efficient communication channels between management, sales teams and dealerships.
- Uphold and promote a strong corporate image and brand reputation across all dealer and customer interactions.
- Assist dealerships with recommendations and initiatives to enhance showroom presentation, service quality and overall customer experience.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- A relevant three-year Diploma in Business Management, Marketing or a related field.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in sales management, with proven exposure to dealer networks within the automotive environment.

- Sound knowledge of the automotive and retail industry, particularly used and commercial vehicles.
- Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles, customer relationship management and dealer operations.
