Description Of The Role And Purpose Of The Job

The Africa audit quality team requires an experienced senior manager or associate director to work directly with the African audit quality leader to drive audit quality initiatives across Africa. The role entails working with all leaders responsible for audit quality initiatives to ensure the strategic audit quality objectives are achieved. In addition to the African role, the colleague will be responsible for managing the Southern Africa file assembly process, the South Africa IRBA reporting process and completion of ISQM 1 controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit quality monitoring
  • Work with Head of Audit and Audit Quality leader to develop the Africa audit quality plan and monitor and report progress against actions
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly audit quality operations committee or board quality committee submissions
  • Prepare all audit quality ISQM 1 controls for review by the Audit Quality leader
  • Preparation of the annual transparency report
  • Co-ordinating and liaising with all leaders responsible for quality initiatives as well as working with Africa audit leaders, EMA and global teams on audit quality reporting
  • Milestone monitoring and engagement management lifecycle
  • Manage the engagement management lifecycle and milestone monitoring process through liaising with engagement leaders on progress of meeting milestones
  • Preparing the monthly reporting in respect of achievement of milestones and actions taken
  • Liaise with the technology team to produce meaningful reports to aide in the process
  • Southern Africa file assembly process
  • Manage the audit file assembly team daily (currently 2 x KDA team members)
  • Assist with leadership level follow up on outstanding file closeouts
  • Review the register of the 3-way match of DocuSign to KPMG Clara workflow to retention files twice weekly (SoQM Control ZA-10).
  • Co-ordinate with the audit technology team on improvements to the tools used and data available
  • Support engagement teams with DocuSign and audit file assembly questions on an ad-hoc basis.
  • South Africa IRBA reporting
  • Manage the team responsible for the maintenance of the data required for IRBA reporting (annual formal declaration process, audit quality indicator (AQI) annual reporting and ad-hoc reporting requirements)
  • Prepare the annual IRBA declaration and the annual AQI submissions
