Accounts Assistant Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support our practice with the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns for a varied client portfolio. This role is well suited to a self-sufficient individual who is comfortable managing their own workload and working independently, with minimal responsibility for supervising junior staff. While not essential, experience in or a genuine interest in the equine / horse racing industry would be advantageous, as it can help build strong rapport with our client base.

Given the multifaceted nature of the role, a strong understanding of UK statutory accounts, personal tax, and corporate tax is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
  • Assistance with additional tax filings as required, including P11Ds
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely submissions
  • Managing a personal portfolio of work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Working Style
  • Predominantly independent working, with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Minimal involvement in training or managing junior staff
  • Ownership of deadlines and responsibility for maintaining quality standards
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience preparing UK statutory accounts
  • Strong working knowledge of UK personal and corporate taxation
  • Experience with P11Ds and other ad-hoc tax filings
