Job Summary: The Accounts Assistant will support the Portfolio Finance Department by carrying out routine accounting tasks, as well as assisting with day-to-day transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist on day‑day finance operations, including reconciliation of Sales Orders to Customer Subscriptions, and Purchase Orders to Vendor transactions.
- Support bank reconciliations and data entry to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Help process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoice entry, approvals, and payments.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with debt collection and customer queries.
- Validate invoices between our accounts system and the customer invoice portal.
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Support audits by providing documentation and financial data as required.
- Perform general administrative and ad hoc tasks related to the finance function.
Qualifications and Skills
- A keen interest in developing a long‑term career in finance and accounting.
- 2‑3 years of experience in a finance or accounting support role and working towards an AAT or Accounting qualification.
- Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Must be able to work on the European time zone hours in Spain of 9am‑5pm.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Experience with accounting software (NetSuite experience preferable).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT literacy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
