Location: Remote-first (Preference: Within 1 hour from Somerset West with ability to attend in-person onboarding & occasional in-person meetings)

Salary: Market-Related (Depending on experience)

My client is looking for an Accountant to support their growing Finance function in their company. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and eager to contribute to an intentional, purpose-driven scale-up company. Key Responsibilities

Role Purpose

You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager on recurring accounting tasks and help ensure our financial operations are timely, accurate, and scalable. This role plays a key part in keeping the 5 C’s of our finance pillar running smoothly: Commercials, Cashflow, Compliance, Capital and Cadence.

1. Financial Operations
  • Assist with monthly accounting tasks and reconciliations (payroll, deposits, FX, etc.)
  • Prepare and send client invoices and maintain debtor reconciliations
  • Process supplier invoices and manage expense tracking
  • Support VAT submissions, tax documentation, and monthly reporting
  • Assist with cashflow forecasting and financial models
  • Help update FX reconciliations and liaise with the FX intermediary
2. Process Improvement & Tools
  • Identify inefficiencies and help implement SOPs, automations, and workarounds
  • Spot and correct errors or inconsistencies in financial processes
  • Use tools like Xero, Dext, and Reach Reporting to improve workflows
3. Compliance & Collaboration
  • Help with finance-related forms and compliance submissions
  • Communicate with clients about invoice queries or updates
  • Attend weekly finance check-ins and update relevant trackers
  • Work closely with internal teams to support client onboarding and invoicing
Requirements
Experience & Technical Skills
  • 2–4 years’ experience in a finance-related role
  • Proficient in Xero and advanced Excel
  • Experience working in a remote or hybrid environment (preferred)
  • Degree or diploma in Accounting or similar (preferred)
