As our Mid-Senior Accountant, youll play a critical role in managing full accounting functions, supporting junior staff, integrating cloud-based systems, and ensuring accurate and compliant reporting aligned with IFRS for SMEs.
Manage and maintain accounting systems using Xero and Sage (online versions)
Integrate external systems and streamline workflows for efficiency
Perform full-function bookkeeping to trial balance and reconcile bank statements independently
Prepare and submit VAT201, EMP201, and EMP501 returns
Handle payroll processing and statutory submissions
Draft annual financial statements in line with IFRS for SMEs
Monitor and implement tax principles, processes, and reconciliations
Lead junior staff by reviewing work, mentoring, and correcting errors
Work collaboratively within a small team, while managing tasks independently
Improve systems and develop processes that support scalability and accuracy
Thrive in a deadline-driven environment with minimal supervision
BCom Accounting or related degree
Proficient in Xero and Sage cloud platforms
Strong command of both English and Afrikaans
Solid understanding of IFRS for SMEs, tax regulations, and payroll systems
Advanced reconciliation and reporting skills
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and guide team members
Tech-savvy and solutions-oriented mindset
