As a Vita Coco Chemist / Associate Chemist, you will perform all tasks associated with the analytical lab operations, including chemical analysis, equipment calibration/maintenance, OOS investigation, method validation and other related tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Perform chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, stability samples, and non-routine samples.
Conduct sensory sessions and packaging integrity checks.
Manage calibration, maintenance and qualification of laboratory equipment.
Participate in R&D activities such as formulation, shelf-life and homogeneity study.
Responsible for ISO 17025 accreditation processes.
Responsible for procurement and monitoring of lab inventory, liaising with vendors for equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
Draft, review and maintain operating procedures for laboratory equipment and processes.
Render scientific assistance to our partners across the globe.
Responsible for method validation and verification.
Participate in project meetings.
Assist in driving continuous improvement activities in the laboratory.
Coordinate/participate in 6S activities for the analytical lab.
Maintain housekeeping standards & observe safety requirements and Good Laboratory practices in the laboratory.
Additional Chemist Responsibilities:
Assist in providing training for new hires/ interns.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to Associate Chemists and interns.
Assist in developing newly identified tests.
Highlight unusual results to Senior Chemist.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in Chemistry/Food Science-related field.
Prior experience in ISO/IEC 17025 would be advantageous.
Prior experience in QC/testing laboratory would be advantageous.
Proficiency in MS Office tools, such as Word, Excel etc.
Chemistry knowledge: To have a thorough understanding of chemistry procedures and principles, e.g. safe use and disposal of chemicals.
Analytical skills: Be able to perform chemical analysis.
Detailed-oriented: Maintains accurate records of data and processes.
Computer skills: Proficient in MS Excel, Word for data entries, reports and data trending.
Teamwork: To be able to work well with the team and collaborate with other teams.
Problem solving skills: Able to analyze data, identify issues, troubleshooting.
Good conduct/attitude: Adhere to company policies and behave professionally.
