As a founding Android Engineer for this venture, you will be the cornerstone of our mobile experience on the Android platform. You'll tackle the exciting challenge of building a buttery-smooth, immersive social application that performs flawlessly across the diverse Android ecosystem. Your work will directly impact core features - from architecting highly responsive content feeds using advanced recycling techniques, to engineering low-latency media capture and processing pipelines, and implementing sophisticated, native gesture-driven interactions. You won't just follow specifications; you'll actively solve complex problems involving performance optimization, memory management, and battery efficiency, while making key technical decisions that shape the app's foundation. Collaborating directly with product and design, you'll transform ambitious ideas into a robust and delightful reality for Android users worldwide.

• Build Core Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain the core features of our Android application from inception, ensuring code quality, performance, and long-term maintainability
• Master Performance & Compatibility: Take ownership of the app's performance across diverse device ecosystems, optimizing for smooth scrolling, efficient media playback, and minimal battery consumption
• Engineer Complex Features: Lead development of advanced capabilities in areas including custom media playback, real-time content creation tools, intuitive gesture handling, and intelligent offline functionality
• Drive Technical Excellence: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define product requirements, propose scalable technical solutions, and establish best practices for code quality, testing, and continuous delivery
• Innovate and Problem-Solve: Proactively identify and solve unique Android platform challenges, from hardware integration to software fragmentation, ensuring exceptional user experiences across all devices

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of professional Android development experience with deep expertise in Kotlin and thorough understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack components, and framework internals
• Proven track record of building and shipping complex, high-performance consumer applications to Google Play Store
• Deep understanding of Android performance profiling, memory management, multithreading, and modern architecture patterns such as MVVM or MVI
• Experience writing testable code and unit tests, with a passion for software craftsmanship and robust design principles
• Product-focused professional with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to creating outstanding user experiences
• Self-motivated problem-solver who excels in fast-paced, ambiguous environments - eager to take ownership and build transformative products from scratch

• Experience with media-intensive applications involving video, audio, or advanced camera functionality
• Background in developing social, content creation, or community-oriented products
• Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for diverse Android device specifications
