Job Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs)

We are reputable Professional Services company, whereby our playground is in the sector of IT and Physical Security solutions, currently seeking an experienced Access Control System and Network Technician/Engineer to join our growing team.

As part of our dedicated security professionals, you will play a key role in the installation, maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of advanced electronic security systems that safeguard physical spaces for our value clients. You will work in collaboration with other technical teams, providing expert guidance to our installation teams and ensuring the highest standards of security system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

System Installation: Lead the installation of access control hardware components such as electronic locks, card readers, biometric scanners, alarm systems, and CCTV surveillance cameras at client locations.

Wiring & Cabling: Execute the termination and installation of low-voltage wiring and network cables for seamless connectivity between system components, together with our installation team.

System Configuration & Programming: Set up and configure access control software, servers, and system components, managing user access privileges in accordance with security protocols.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system functionality, promptly diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues to minimize downtime.

System Integration: Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate access control systems with other security infrastructure, such as CCTV and alarm systems, ensuring cohesive and efficient operations.

Client Support & Training: Provide technical support and training to clients, empowering them to effectively manage and operate their security systems.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintain updated records of system configurations, installations, and service activities, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and relevant security regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in electronic security systems, networking principles, computer hardware/software, and TCP/IP networking. Solid experience with structured cabling and low-voltage wiring systems.

Problem-Solving: Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with efficiency and precision.

Physical Endurance: Ability to perform physical tasks, including running cables in ceilings and walls, and working in diverse environments.

Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Skills (Preferred)

Knowledge of electrical wiring and relay systems. Prior experience in supervising teams or managing on-site installations may qualify you for an Engineer-level role.

Driving License (Good to Have)

A valid Class 3A/3 driving license is beneficial, though not mandatory, as travel to client sites is a regular requirement.

Key Attributes

Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, including weekends and nights, when required.

Ability to work with various tools and equipment such as digital/ analog multimeters, hammer drills, ladders etc.

A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail and safety protocols.
