Responsible for design, testing, and documenting product and network configurations of KVH's mobile connectivity suite of products.
About this Position:
You will be responsible for designing, testing, and documenting product and network configurations of KVH's mobile connectivity suite of products. This is a full-time position reporting to the VP, APAC, based in our Singapore office, with headquarters in Middletown, Rhode Island.
- Become knowledgeable about KVH communications services and integrated routing capabilities, as well as the services offered.
- Interact with the sales team and customers to understand their needs and LAN/WAN design requirements, and communicate technical information clearly.
- Document customer requirements and prepare design proposals for review with customers.
- Potentially travel to customer sites for integration testing of proposed designs and final acceptance.
- Identify, perform compatibility testing, and assist in documenting third-party products and their application with KVH's data product suite.
- Act as the initial point of escalation for all non-routine IT-related technical support issues, interfacing with engineering as appropriate.
- Responsible for in-house and field troubleshooting of KVH data products.
- Solid LAN/WAN networking experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English preferred.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent preferred.
- Some experience with integrating networked systems for custom solutions.
- Linux systems administration experience preferred.
- Knowledge of user devices, operating systems (mobile and desktop), and common applications.
- Cisco router configuration experience is a plus.
- Self-learner and problem-solver.
- Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time.
