Oracle Database Administrator
Job summary
A leading Oracle services company in Singapore is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to manage and support Oracle databases, perform advanced performance tuning, and design disaster recovery strategies. The ideal candidate has at least 6 years of experience, expertise in Oracle tools, and strong cloud platform knowledge. Qualifications
- 6 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience with at least 3 years in a senior/L3 role.
- Expertise in Oracle internals, performance diagnostics, and troubleshooting tools.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure Database.
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Oracle databases in production and development environments.
- Perform advanced database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Design and implement backup strategies using RMAN and Data Guard.

- Manage and administer Oracle databases (versions 12c, 19c, and newer) in production and development environments.
- Perform advanced database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
- Design and implement high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and backup strategies (RMAN, Data Guard).
- Automate routine database tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, or Ansible.
- Apply patches, perform upgrades/migrations (on-prem and cloud), and manage version control.
- Implement and enforce database security, roles, and user access controls.
- Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Provide L3 support for escalated incidents and lead root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support application and system integration.
- Participate in on-call rotation and support weekend deployments when necessary.
- Document architecture, configurations, and procedures for audit and knowledge transfer.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience with at least 3 years in a senior/L3 role.
- Expertise in Oracle, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle internals, performance diagnostics (AWR, ASH, TKPROF), and troubleshooting tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure Database for Oracle).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident/change/problem management.
- Scripting experience (Shell, Python, or similar) for automation and monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Willing to Learn SAP HANA
