Your role and responsibilities
Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Design
- Design and implement highly available, scalable, and cost‑optimized architectures using AWS Well‑Architected Framework and cloud‑native design patterns.
- Translate business requirements into detailed architectural blueprints and solution designs.
- Evaluate existing workloads and modernize applications using AWS services, serverless technologies, containers, and microservices architectures.
Cloud Development & Automation
- Develop cloud‑native applications and automation workflows using AWS SDKs, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, ECS/EKS, and other AWS services.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
- Build automation for provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
DevSecOps & CI/CD
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Embed security controls into pipelines, enabling automated compliance, code scanning, and artifact validation.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability using CloudWatch, X‑Ray, OpenTelemetry, and other monitoring tools.
Security, Governance & Compliance
- Apply AWS security best practices across IAM, VPC, encryption, secrets, networking, and data protection.
- Ensure solutions comply with organizational, industry, and regulatory standards.
- Support threat modelling, risk assessments, and automated security policy enforcement.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Work within an agile environment—participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, developers, and security teams to deliver end‑to‑end cloud solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, perform code reviews, and mentor junior engineers if needed.
Required technical and professional expertise
Required skills and qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computing, Electrical Engineering, IT or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of working experience in the Information Technology industry, preferably in the areas of AWS Cloud implementation and support.
- Strong hands‑on experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, SQS, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, CloudFront, etc.).
- Proven background in AWS architecture design and AWS development.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
- Experience with IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Knowledge of AWS Well‑Architected Framework, cloud‑native patterns, serverless architectures, and event‑driven designs.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps pipelines, and automated testing.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (EKS/Kubernetes or ECS).
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical solutions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
- Passion for innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to quickly learn new technology and apply new skills.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional (highly preferred).
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate.
- Experience with cloud cost management and optimization.
- Familiarity with zero‑trust architectures, cloud security tooling, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in multi‑account architectures using AWS Organizations and Control Tower.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Proficiency in Netflix OSS: Exposure to Netflix OSS technology, with the ability to implement and integrate it into cloud‑based systems.
- Knowledge of Angular.js: Familiarity with Angular.js and its application in cloud‑native development, with an understanding of its advantages and disadvantages in relation to AWS Services.
- Experience with CSS: Exposure to CSS scripting technology, with the ability to apply it in cloud‑native development and integrate it with AWS Services.
