Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore seeks a Workplace Safety Officer responsible for establishing and maintaining safety management systems on-site, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry and be a registered WSH Officer. This position is open only to Singaporeans.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of Workplace Safety & Health Act and regulations.
  • Ability to implement effective safety measures.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain Safety & Health Management System on site.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards and risks.

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Descriptions

Workplace Safety Management
  • To establish Safety & Health Management System (SHMS) on site
  • Implement / Maintain project and corporate SHMS
  • Identify and assess risk arising from the workplace or work process
  • Recommend and implement safe work procedure
  • Implement measures to improved workplace safety performance
  • Implement Company’s EHS policies and standards
  • Comply with Statutory Requirements under MOM and NEA
  • Participate in the corporate EHS Committee
  • Conduct In–house training
  • Plan and implement EHS plans, trainings, meetings and promotional programmes
  • Conduct regular inspections at the workplace to identify hazards and risks, followed by recommending remedial and preventive measure
  • Enforce EHS / OSH rules and regulations at the workplace
  • Act as secretary for the WSH Committee; preside in the absence of committee chairman
  • Investigate, handle, report and liaise with relevant parties for accidents or EHS non-compliance
Project Budget Control
  • Implement effective safety provision to avoid re-work
  • Achieve ZERO accident rate
  • Prepare safety cost budget for approval
Technical Understanding
  • Understands the Workplace Safety & Health Act & other regulatory requirements
  • Ability to provide practical safety solution
Job Requirement
  • Registered WSH Officer with MOM
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in construction industry
