Warehouse Supervisor (Hardware & Building Materials)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and safety-oriented Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our daily yard and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling heavy hardware and construction materials, possess the required Bizsafe Level 2 qualification, and be capable of leading a team to meet tight project delivery timelines for construction sites across Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

1. Warehouse & Yard Operations Management

• Supervise daily intake and dispatch operations, including the safe handling of bulk building materials (e.g., cement, aggregates), structural hardware (e.g., rebars, piping), and general inventory (e.g., power tools, fasteners, adhesives).
• Optimize storage layout for efficiency and safety, ensuring heavy/oversized items are racked or stacked according to WSH guidelines.
• Coordinate with Procurement to ensure availability of materials.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts, bobcat.

2. Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Compliance

• Mandatory: Act as the primary WSH Coordinator for the warehouse, enforcing all Ministry of Manpower (MOM) regulations.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings, Risk Assessments (RA), and safety inspections to identify hazards (e.g., falling objects, traffic management risks).
• Ensure all staff wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Supervise loading/unloading of goods.

3. Inventory Control & Administration

• Inspect incoming goods for quality, quantity, and damages (e.g., rust on steel, broken cement bags) and document discrepancies immediately.

4. Team Leadership & Logistics Coordination

• Lead, train, and roster a team of warehouse assistants, forklift drivers, and general workers.
• Coordinate with Logistics/Transport team to plan delivery routes and load sequencing to maximize vehicle utility.

Job Requirements

Certifications & Licenses

• Mandatory: Bizsafe Level 2.
• Mandatory: Valid Forklift Driver’s License.
• Mandatory: Valid Class 3 Driving License (Class 4 is an added advantage).

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse environment, preferably within the Building Materials, Construction and Hardware industry.
• Physically fit to supervise outdoor yard operations in Singapore’s tropical weather.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Good command of Mandarin (written and spoken) to prepare reports and coordinate with warehouse staff. Ability to speak English is an advantage for communicating with a diverse workforce.
