Group Marketing & Communications is responsible for building, protecting, and enhancing the DBS brand in an increasingly commoditised banking industry. Working closely with all units within the DBS Group, we create and execute integrated strategies that focus on communications especially digital communications, marketing, and research to differentiate - and elevate - our brand from the rest of the competition.
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Event & Sponsorship Specialist to join our regional PBTPC Marketing team. This role is responsible for project leading and overseeing the strategic planning, development, and execution of events and related marketing activities for DBS Private Bank and Treasures Private Client across our key markets globally. The ideal candidate will create impactful events that align with the bank’s key objectives and goals, to increase loyalty, acquisitions and participation, and drive brand awareness through effective marketing. The individual is responsible for ensuring the end-to-end delivery of the bank’s events activity, including internal and external client events for our different audiences and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Team Head, PBTPC Marketing Event & Sponsorship to identify, develop and deliver the over-arching strategy for our bank’s events.
- Conceptualise, plan, and deliver high-impact events, including loyalty and appreciation events, product related events, funds houses events, acquisition events, producing detailed proposals, including timelines, venues, suppliers, budgets and staffing.
- Oversee all components of event management, including budgeting, logistics, vendor management, sponsorship and post-event evaluation.
Planning & Execution of Marketing Events
- Develop comprehensive event plans aligned with the bank’s marketing and business objectives, including goals, target audience, budget, and success metrics.
- Organise end-to-end event execution including site selection, venue booking, contract management, vendor management, permits, logistics coordination, branding setup, and staffing.
- Handle contingency planning to address unforeseen issues such as weather, vendor delays, or last-minute cancellations.
- Conduct research on competitor activities and industry trends to bring fresh, innovative ideas to the bank’s event marketing strategy.
- Manage on-site event operations to ensure seamless execution, including registration, audio-visuals, signage, and client experience.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth planning and execution of events.
- Manage the internal approval process for event concepts, budgets, and promotional materials by preparing detailed briefs and obtaining timely sign-offs from relevant stakeholders.
- Proactively communicate timelines, responsibilities, and progress updates to all internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment at every stage of the event lifecycle.
- Coordinate with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure all events and associated content adhere to regulatory requirements and brand guidelines.
- Facilitate internal post-event debriefs to share outcomes, gather feedback, and implement learnings for future initiatives.
- Budget and resource management.
Customer Engagement & Lead Generation
- Design event experiences that strengthen relationships with existing customers and attract potential new clients.
- Collect and analyse attendee data and feedback to inform lead nurturing campaigns and post-event follow-up.
Post-Event Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct thorough post-event evaluations, gathering feedback from stakeholders and attendees to assess satisfaction levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyse performance metrics such as attendance rates, leads generated, customer conversions and other on-ground insights/feedback.
- Prepare detailed post-event reports and presentations for senior management review.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
- More than 8 years of experience in event planning, marketing, or related roles (preferably in the banking or financial services sector).
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel regionally for events when required.
- Collaborative team player with good stakeholder management skills.
- Possess a results-oriented mindset.
- Strong problem-solving and crisis management abilities.
