Job description

Salling Search is assisting an international commodity trading firm in a search for a Trade Operations Executive based in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full scope of trade operations, including all aspects of Letters of Credit (L/C) and trade documentation.
• Prepare and submit accurate L/C documentation in accordance with contractual and shipment terms.
• Oversee shipment-related and contractual processes to ensure smooth execution of trades.
• Perform laytime calculations and support demurrage/despatch claims when applicable.
• Liaise and negotiate with banks on trade finance matters, ensuring compliance and timely processing.
• Monitor credit limits and collaborate with the front office to mitigate operational risks.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency in trade execution.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the dry bulk sector; experience with cement / coal trades is preferred.
• Strong command of both written and spoken English.
• Solid understanding of Incoterms and Letters of Credit; prior experience in a trading house is advantageous.
• Proficiency in laytime calculation is preferred.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of the dry bulk trading business.
