The role

We’re seeking a pragmatic, quality-driven Software Engineer (or Senior Software Engineer) to join our delivery teams. You’ll work closely with Business Analysts, QA and DevOps engineers to design, build, test and release high-quality software using Agile / XP practices. This role spans feature delivery, automation, documentation and continuous improvement across the software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with BAs to refine and elaborate user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Implement new features and enhancements across the stack; produce clean, maintainable code.
• Work with QA to create and maintain test automation, reproduce and fix defects.
• Support DevOps efforts for build, CI/CD and release automation (Bamboo/TeamCity or similar).
• Improve code quality through pair programming, code reviews and unit testing.
• Produce architecture, design and technical documentation for delivered solutions.
• Follow and promote the Software Craftsmanship principles and Agile/XP practices.

Required skills & qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong practical experience with Git.
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools (Bamboo, TeamCity or equivalent).
• Comfortable developing in Mac and/or Linux/UNIX environments.
• Proven experience working in agile teams (TDD, pair programming, Scrum, XP).
• Familiarity with Windows and Unix/Linux server environments.
• Good understanding of design patterns and software architecture fundamentals.
• Experienced in writing and maintaining unit tests and testable code.
• Clear communicator with good presentation and active listening skills.
• Able to write architecture/technical documents and present technical designs to stakeholders.

Nice-to-have

• Exposure to mobile application development
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated release management and build tooling.
• UX collaboration experience or working alongside product designers.
