Job Summary

The Show Director leads the creative vision, development, and direction of world‑class entertainment offerings across Resorts World Sentosa. This role is critical for the conceptualization and execution of compelling performances and show experiences that elevate guest engagement, uphold brand standards, and drive resort‑wide entertainment objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Artistic Direction:

  • Establish and maintain the creative vision and artistic style for all shows, parades, and entertainment offerings.
  • Direct high‑profile productions, including stage shows, character experiences, stunt shows, night time spectaculars, and seasonal events.
  • Guide the team in blocking, pacing, performance coaching, and character integrity.
  • Introduce global best practices in entertainment to elevate show quality and guest satisfaction.

Show Quality & Performance Excellence:

  • Define performance standards and ensure strict adherence across all entertainment products.
  • Conduct regular show quality evaluations and implement continuous improvement plans.
  • Oversee performance notes, re‑rehearsals, and talent coaching to maintain consistency.
  • Ensure performers embody brand, story, and character guidelines.

Talent Development:

  • Collaborate with casting teams to set audition requirements and participate in talent selection.
  • Develop training programs for performers, show captains, and entertainment teams.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with Production, Technical, Costuming and Operations teams to deliver seamless shows.
  • Align creative decisions with business needs, safety, brand identity, and guest experience goals.

New Show Development:

  • Lead the creative development of new entertainment offerings, from concept and script to rehearsal and launch.
  • Provide creative input on show technology, scenic design, music direction, choreography, and special effects.
  • Oversee creative budgets and timelines for entertainment projects.

Guest Experience & Brand Alignment:

  • Ensure all shows reflect the resort’s storytelling values and emotional engagement standards.
  • Keep abreast with guest feedback, audience responses, and industry trends.
  • Champion immersive and interactive entertainment that enhances guest satisfaction and dwell time.
Job Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Theatre, Performing Arts, Entertainment Management, or related field.
  • 10 - 12 years of experience in show directing, with at least 5 years in a creative leadership role.
  • Proven track record in theme parks, cruise entertainment, large‑scale events, or live performance venues.
  • Deep understanding of choreography, staging, storytelling principles, and character development.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience managing large teams of performers and creative staff.
  • Familiarity with show technology (lighting, sound, automation, SFX) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) and Final Draft.
  • Skilled in music production and video production software will be a plus (Audacity, Logic Pro X, Ableton, Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premier Pro, etc.).
  • Able to lead and manage projects in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to operational needs.
