Join a dynamic, independent reinsurance brokerage that is rapidly expanding its footprint across Asia. This role offers you the autonomy to shape your own portfolio. You will be the architect of complex reinsurance programs, working directly with clients in high-growth markets to structure deals that actually make a difference. If you are a technical expert who enjoys the craft of broking—from designing the slip to closing the deal—and you possess deep knowledge of the SEA and Northeast Asian markets, this is your platform to perform.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Structuring & Design: Lead the technical structuring of reinsurance programs (Treaty and/or Facultative). You will analyze client portfolios to design layered programs that optimize coverage and pricing efficiency.
- Regional Market Development: Manage and grow a book of business focused on Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia. You will leverage your existing network to unlock new opportunities in these specific territories.
- Multi-Line Placement: Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Property, while also handling placements for at least one secondary line (e.g., Engineering, Casualty, Marine, or Energy).
- Strategic Advisory: Move beyond transactional broking to act as a strategic advisor. You will guide cedants through hard market cycles, capacity constraints, and changing regulatory landscapes in Asia.
- Negotiation: Lead negotiations with regional and global reinsurers to secure optimal terms for your clients, ensuring competitive pricing and robust security.
Skills & Qualifications
- Regional Expertise: Proven experience traveling to and trading within Southeast Asia (e.g., Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines) and Northeast Asia (e.g., South Korea, Taiwan, Japan).
- Technical Proficiency: A strong track record in Property reinsurance is essential. Experience in a second business line is required to support our multi-line approach.
- Program Architecture: Demonstrated ability to structure complex placements. You should be comfortable discussing retention levels, limit structures, reinstatement provisions, and pricing adequacy.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; fluency in an Asian language (such as Mandarin, Korean, Thai, or Vietnamese) is a significant advantage for this region-focused role.
- Professional Attributes: We value curiosity, precision, and a collaborative spirit. You are someone who takes ownership of your work and thrives in a flat, non-bureaucratic environment.
Why Apply?
- Impact: Your contribution is visible and measured. You will have a direct hand in the firm's growth strategy.
- Agility: We move faster than the global giants. Decisions are made quickly, allowing you to capture market opportunities as they arise.
- Culture: A diverse, professional environment that respects expertise and rewards results.
