Job summary

A leading consultancy firm in Singapore is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to shape data strategies and implement secure cloud infrastructure. You will advise on engineering architecture, build scalable data pipelines, and ensure data governance in various sectors. Ideal candidates will have at least 10 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Proficiency in Python and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Advise on data engineering strategy, architecture, and implementation.
• Translate business data needs into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
• Design and build data pipelines for ingestion, cleaning, and harmonization.
• Implement secure, cloud-based data infrastructure and access controls.
• Optimize ETL processes, databases, and pipelines for performance and reliability.
• Develop reusable data models and maintain data catalogs with metadata and lineage.
• Enforce data governance, quality, and security standards.
• Lead end-to-end implementations and standardize solution approaches.
• Promote modern engineering and data practices across agencies.
• Enjoys solving complex data and infrastructure problems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
• 10+ years in data engineering, cloud, or platform engineering.
• Strong system design, data modeling, and algorithm knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), distributed systems (Spark, Hadoop), and Databricks.
• Proficient in Python, Java, Scala, SQL; familiar with Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Docker, Git, Terraform, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy, especially in public sector.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
