Key Roles & Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements—such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements—specific to logistics operations.
  • Revenue Recognition: Oversee revenue recognition processes to ensure adherence to accounting standards and industry regulations.
  • Cost Management: Analyze and manage costs associated with transportation, warehousing, freight, and other logistics activities.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Supervise AP/AR functions, ensuring timely vendor payments and customer collections.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with the operations team to ensure accurate inventory valuation and proper management.
  • Financial Analysis: Deliver financial insights and analyses to support decision-making, including profitability reviews and cost-benefit assessments.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, and logistics-related requirements such as transportation and customs regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support junior accounting staff.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline; professional certifications (CA, CPA, ACCA) are an advantage.
  2. Experience: 5–7 years of accounting experience within the logistics industry, including at least 2–3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of logistics‑specific accounting practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  4. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  5. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail and financial data interpretation.
Desirable Skills
  • Logistics Knowledge: Solid understanding of logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and freight management.
  • ERP Systems: Hands‑on experience with logistics‑specific ERP platforms (e.g., TMS, WMS).
