Job summary

A local staffing agency is seeking a Science Laboratory Technician for a 10-month contract in Singapore. The role involves preparing materials for experiments, ensuring lab safety, maintaining inventory, and supporting teachers with practical classes. Candidates should have at least N or O Level qualifications and preferably 2 years of laboratory experience. Working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., excluding public holidays and school holidays. This position offers a collaborative environment to enhance the student learning experience.

  • Good interpersonal skills, meticulous and organized.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials and equipment for experiments and practical exams.
  • Ensure smooth running of lab practicals and assist teachers.
  • Conduct lab safety reviews and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor science room schedules and assist in procurement.
  • Maintain inventory records and assist in lesson preparation.
  • Support maintenance of lab facilities and living organisms.
  • Collaborate with Science Department to enhance schedules.
  • Ensure labs are ready for guest visits and meetings.
  • Assist teachers in Science club activities.
  • Perform duties assigned by Principal or Vice-Principal.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare materials and equipment for experiments and practical exams.
  • Ensure smooth running of lab practicals and assist teachers with troubleshooting.
  • Conduct lab safety reviews every 6 months and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor science room schedules and assist in procurement and maintenance of lab equipment and apparatus.
  • Maintain inventory records and assist in lesson preparation as needed.
  • Support maintenance of lab facilities, eco pond, sky garden, terrarium, and living organisms (e.g., insects, hamsters, fish).
  • Collaborate with Science Department to enhance practical schedules and student experiences.
  • Ensure labs are ready for guest visits and meetings.
  • Assist teachers in Science club activities and competition training.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Principal, Vice‑Principal, or HOD/Science.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum N or O Level.

Duration / Working hours

10 months contract (Option to extend another 10 months) 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026

Mondays to Fridays: From 8.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. (inclusive of 30 mins lunch break)
The school operates on 5 day work week.
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Service will not be required during the June and November‑December school holidays, except for period (e.g. last week of the school holidays)
