Qualifications

SAP Administrator – L3 (Day 2 IT Operations)
Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Administrator to provide expert operational support and administration of enterprise SAP environments. This is a Day 2 IT Operations role, responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, performance, and security of SAP systems in a 24x7 enterprise environment, following ITIL processes. The SAP Administrator will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to maintain and enhance the SAP landscape, and will provide cross‑functional technical support to infrastructure and application teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems and supporting components.
  • Perform day‑to‑day operational activities: system monitoring, patching, health checks, and upgrades.
  • Manage SAP transport requests and system refreshes.
  • Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Manage SAP user accounts, roles, and authorizations.
  • Implement and enforce SAP security policies and audit compliance.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents in line with ITIL incident and problem management processes.
  • Proactively monitor SAP system performance.
  • Perform kernel, database, and SAP parameter tuning.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and optimize SAP applications.
  • Provide L3 support for incidents and service requests escalated by L1/L2 teams.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
  • Participate in change management cycles, ensuring minimal downtime during planned changes.
  • Work with Database Administrators on DB‑level performance and schema issues.
  • Collaborate with OS and Infrastructure teams for kernel, patch, and storage‑level changes.
  • Support Network and Security teams on SAP connectivity and compliance issues.
  • Partner with Application/Development teams to ensure smooth integration and performance.
  • Work with IT infrastructure and business teams on SAP projects and enhancements.
  • Document system configurations, operational procedures, and changes for internal knowledge base.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Proven experience in SAP Basis administration with hands‑on support in enterprise IT operations.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP system architecture and integrations.
  • Familiarity with database management (Oracle, HANA, SQL) and Linux/Windows OS.
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant IT support experience, preferably in a Day 2 operations role.
  • Experience in ITIL‑based operational environments; ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
Preferred Skills / Certifications
  • Experience with SAP HANA and cloud‑hosted SAP solutions.
  • SAP Basis certification (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., SolMan, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana).
Working Hours

Flexibility to participate in a 24x7 support model, including shifts or on‑call rotations as required. May require occasional weekend or after‑hours work for patching and system upgrades.
