Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Manager with a strong background in Chinese fine dining to oversee daily operations and ensure the highest standards of service. The candidate must have at least 5 years of relevant experience managing premium or fine dining restaurants. This role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Manage reservations, table allocation, and dining room flow.
- Ensure the restaurant ambience, cleanliness, and table settings meet fine dining standards.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
Customer Service
- Lead the team to deliver high-quality and personalized service.
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests professionally.
- Build rapport with regular and VIP guests to enhance guest retention.
Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, mentor, and train the service team to maintain fine dining service quality.
- Conduct daily briefings, service training, and performance reviews.
- Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower coverage.
Menu & Service Coordination
- Maintain strong knowledge of Chinese cuisine, service etiquette, and seasonal menu items.
- Work closely with the culinary team on menu updates, promotions, and special events.
- Support pairing recommendations (tea, wine, etc.) when required.
Administration & Finance
- Oversee cost control, budgeting, and operating expenses.
- Monitor sales performance and work towards meeting revenue targets.
- Manage inventory, ordering, and coordination with suppliers.
- Ensure accurate reporting, record keeping, and POS functions.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in restaurant management within Chinese fine dining or high‑end F&B establishments.
- Strong understanding of Chinese cuisine, service style, and dining culture.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and training service teams.
- Strong customer service orientation with communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced fine dining environment.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Proficient in reservation systems and POS.
- Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin to liaise with English‑ and Mandarin‑speaking guests (requirement for business needs).
