The Signature Research Programme in Emerging Infectious Diseases ("EID") aims to pioneer the development and discovery of new and more effective methods for the treatment, prevention and control of new and emerging pathogens. The key outcome of the research will be the early identification of new pathogens, out of which new diagnostic tests, treatments and control strategies will be developed.
The laboratory of Immunotherapy in HBV Infection within the EID Programme, led by Professor Antonio Bertoletti, studies immune responses to Hepatitis B (HBV) and is at the forefront in developing T-cell receptor (TCR) cell therapy against hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Furthermore, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Nina Le Bert, the laboratory is actively involved in characterizing antigen-specific T cell responses in viral infections such as HBV, influenza, paramyxoviruses, SARS-CoV-2 and other emerging viral diseases.
A Research Assistant position is available, and the successful candidate will be closely involved in collaborative project work between hospitals/industries and the laboratory. The duties and responsibilities include the following:
