We are seeking aQuantitative Researcher to provide research support for trading activities inenergy-related futures and physical markets, with a focus on crude oil and refined products.

This role emphasizes the integration of research and practical application, leveragingquantitative analysis, machine learning, and AI toolsto assist the trading team in market analysis, strategy validation, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative research on energy futures and physical markets (price spreads, term structure, seasonality, volatility, etc.).
  • Analyze market data using statistical methods and machine learning models.
  • Develop market indicators, produce research reports, and build analytical tools to support trading decisions.
  • Apply large language models (LLMs) to assist in research and analysis; able to construct and utilize simpleprompt-based workflows, agents, or pipelinesfor internal analytical tasks.
  • Clearly present research findings to the trading team and effectively incorporate their feedback.
Job Requirements
  • A degree in a quantitative or technical field such as: Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics or other related STEM disciplines.
  • Solid foundation in statistics and data analysis.
  • Proficient in Python for research and data analysis.
  • Familiar with Large Language Models and related AI tools, with an understanding of prompt engineering and agent fundamentals.
  • Prior internship, project experience or work experience in finance, trading and commodities is preferred.
  • Strong interest in futures, derivatives and commodity markets.
  • Collaborative, able to work closely with traders and align research with practical trading needs.
  • Result-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced trading environment.
