Job summary

A senior care organization in Singapore is seeking a qualified individual to oversee the psychosocial services team. The candidate will manage team operations, collaborate with various stakeholders, and lead the development of quality psychosocial services for seniors. A degree in social work and registration with the Singapore Association of Social Workers are mandatory, along with at least 5 years of experience in psychosocial support and elderly care. This role aims to enhance the quality of life for seniors in their care.

Job description
Job purpose

The Jobholder oversees the psychosocial services team comprising social workers, social work associates and admin staff. He/she ensures development and delivery of psychosocial services to all clients at SSCH’s homes and centres in line with SSCH’s care philosophy of person-centered care.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Oversee psychosocial practices and manage daily operation of the psychosocial team
  • Work with various stakeholders and professionals such as MOH, MSF, centre managers and nursing care team for the holistic care management of clients and their families
  • Lead the development and implementation of appropriate psychosocial services and programmes towards seniors’ better quality of life
  • Develop and implement various SOPs and guidelines pertaining to psychosocial services delivery across SSCH, and ensure compliance with requirements of various authorities
  • Schedule psychosocial team staff for relevant supervision and external training
  • Manage staffing, tools, and financial resources to support effective psychosocial services, including planning and allocating the budget, monitoring spending, and ensuring resources are used efficiently to meet client and programme needs
Qualifications & Skills Required
  • Degree in social work
  • Registered social worker with Singapore Association of Social Workers
  • Well versed in various government and non-government social support schemes
  • Previous experience working in an elderly care setting with person-centred care approach is an advantage
  • Preferably at least 5 to 7 years’ experience in psychosocial support, mental health services, case management of counselling in similar position.
