Job description

SAMH manages the Activity Hub, where psychosocial rehabilitative programmes are conducted to assist residents in their recovery from mental illness and to reintegrating them into the community. Activity Hub’s services include occupational therapy, social work, psychological services and vocational placements.

Purpose

To promote mental wellness, positive & healthy behaviours, thereby improving residents’ quality of life. To assess and provide intervention for psychological, behavioural, emotional and interpersonal issues resulting from, or related to physical or mental illnesses.

Core Duties
  • Conduct psychoeducation to educate and help residents to cope with mental illness
  • Provide individualized intervention based on residents’ needs and goals
  • Provide counselling for residents and work collaboratively in a disciplinary team towards rehabilitation goals
  • Develop and conduct talks and workshops on mental health
  • Keep proper documentation and timely submission as scheduled
  • Compile monthly statistics reports
  • Assist in daily operations and coordinating festive events for residents
  • Conduct various psychological tests for clients (RBANS, WISC, CTONI, MoCA, DASS, ABAS, Color Trails Test (CTT), and Symbol Digit Modalities Tests)
  • Conduct talks, seminars and workshops
  • Provide supervision for SAMH staff
Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Minimum two years’ of relevant experience in mental health or VWO sector
  • Effectively bilingual and proficient in local dialects
  • Self-motivated and resilience in serving the mental health population
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently in a team
  • Prior working experience in the social services sector will have an advantage
