Job description

We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic part-time Pastry Cooks to support our dynamic pastry team this festive season from 01 December 2025. In this role, you will assist in the preparation and presentation of a wide variety of pastries, desserts and baked goods for our hotel's all-day dining restaurant, Peppermint. This is an ideal position for a flexible individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.

Job scope:
  • Prepare a variety of pastries according to standardised recipes and specifications.
  • Assist in the daily mise en place for the pastry section, ensuring all ingredients and tools are ready for service.
  • Decorate and plate desserts to the highest visual and quality standards as required.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared, stored, and handled in compliance with strict health, safety, and hygiene standards (SFA guidelines).
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, including all work stations, equipment, and utensils.
  • Monitor stock levels of pastry ingredients and inform supervisors of low stock in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques
  • Adhere to the hotel's sustainability practices, minimizing waste wherever possible.
Working hours:

From 9am to 10:30pm (shift work required and flexible hours available)

Part-Time Rates :

$13 - $15 per hour

Staff meals provided.

Requirements:
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • A relevant culinary certificate or diploma is highly advantageous.
  • Available to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Candidates who can commit to more days per week will be given priority.
