A logistics company in Singapore is seeking a Shipping Manager to lead and optimize all shipping activities, ensuring on-time and cost-effective delivery. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in shipping or logistics, with strong leadership and communication skills. Key responsibilities include managing carrier relationships, overseeing daily operations, and collaborating with warehouse teams. This role requires a deep understanding of shipping regulations and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsible for leading and optimizing all outbound and inbound shipping activities to ensure on‑time, cost‑effective, and compliant delivery of products. This role oversees daily shipping workflows, manages carrier and vendor relationships, maintains regulatory compliance, drives continuous process improvements, and ensures a high level of customer satisfaction. The manager supervises shipping personnel and collaborates closely with warehouse, inventory, procurement, and customer service teams.
Oversee day‑to‑day shipping operations, including order fulfillment, dispatching, routing, and scheduling.
Ensure timely and accurate shipments in line with customer requirements and service level agreements.
Monitor workload distribution and adjust staffing, equipment, and priorities as needed.
Select, negotiate, and manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third‑party logistics providers.
Review freight rates, contracts, and service performance to ensure competitive and reliable transportation.
Resolve escalations, service failures, and carrier disputes.
Supervise, train, and develop shipping staff, including coordinators, clerks, and warehouse employees.
Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide coaching for ongoing improvement.
Promote a safe, productive, and team‑oriented work environment.
Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely product availability and efficient picking/packing.
Oversee staging, loading, and quality checks to minimize errors and freight damage.
Manage inventory levels of shipping materials and packaging supplies.
