The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and collaborative management and operations of the 24-Hour Urgent Care Centre (UCC}, while aligning departmental performance with the hospital's goals and strategic objectives.

The Nurse Manager ensures that nursing services at UCC are delivered safely, effectively, and in alignment with the hospital's strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

The Nurse Manager drives clinical excellence, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with quality standards and accreditation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strong clinical leadership and oversee evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity setting

  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, emergency response standards, and infection control practices

  • Manage medication safety, controlled drug documentation, and audit readiness

  • Lead incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for clinical governance

  • Lead by example in clinical decision‑making, emergency response, and upholding best practices

  • Mentor, coach, and develop nursing staff through structured training, competency assessments, and career progression opportunities

  • Oversee regulatory compliance, support audits, and maintain up‑to‑date SOPs and guidelines

  • Manage budgets, resources, and support revenue protection through accurate documentation

  • Foster collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams, acting as the key nursing liaison with doctors, allied health, and management

  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and embrace evidence‑based, innovative practices

Secondary Duties
  • Support doctors during clinical procedures and assist with practical nursing tasks as needed.

  • Participate in in‑service education programs and monitor the application of post‑training skills

  • Provide night duty and weekend coverage when required to maintain operational continuity.

Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse in Singapore with valid SNB licensure

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in nursing; post‑basic qualification in Emergency Nursing or Healthcare Management is an advantage

  • Minimum 7–10 years of nursing experience, including 5 years in management

  • Strong leadership, team development, and problem‑solving skills

  • Experience in Emergency Department/UCC settings preferred

  • Excellent knowledge of triage, acute presentations, medication safety, and clinical incident management

  • Able to work rotating shift hours
