A leading technology services provider in Singapore is seeking a Network Support Engineer to provide operational and maintenance support for a national-level secure network platform. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess 1 to 3 years of experience in cloud or systems operations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting network issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting system upgrades. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are essential, along with proficiency in network equipment and documentation.
Provide operational and maintenance support for a national-level secure network platform and its associated products and services.
Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure network stability and reliability.
Support system expansions, upgrades, and new infrastructure rollouts, including hardware and software components such as routers, switches, firewalls, virtual machines, containers, and network monitoring and management systems.
Collaborate with engineering teams on new product or feature implementations, node deployments, and technical support matters.
Contribute to pre-sales activities, including responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
Troubleshoot network and system issues and ensure timely resolution within defined service levels.
Monitor and analyse network performance, taking proactive and preventive measures to enhance performance through software and hardware improvements.
Prepare and maintain statistical and performance reports on network and equipment health.
Proactively engage engineering teams to recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate potential incidents.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
1 to 3 years of experience in cloud, DevOps, or systems operations environments.
Working knowledge of container technologies, orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes), and Linux-based operating systems.
Hands-on experience with the installation and upgrade of routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
Basic understanding of quantum key distribution and encryption technologies is advantageous.
Strong understanding of internet networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP.
Good analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to isolate and resolve technical faults effectively.
Ability to document, review, and assess existing infrastructure to support operational stability, identify potential vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements.
Proficiency in common office applications such as Excel, Visio, and Word.
Experience managing vendors, service providers, and internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to develop, document, and implement policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for infrastructure management.
