Job description

Role Responsibilities

• Provide operational and maintenance support for a national-level secure network platform and its associated products and services.

• Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure network stability and reliability.

• Support system expansions, upgrades, and new infrastructure rollouts, including hardware and software components such as routers, switches, firewalls, virtual machines, containers, and network monitoring and management systems.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on new product or feature implementations, node deployments, and technical support matters.

• Contribute to pre-sales activities, including responses to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.

• Troubleshoot network and system issues and ensure timely resolution within defined service levels.

• Monitor and analyse network performance, taking proactive and preventive measures to enhance performance through software and hardware improvements.

• Prepare and maintain statistical and performance reports on network and equipment health.

• Proactively engage engineering teams to recommend corrective and preventive actions to mitigate potential incidents.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.

• 1 to 3 years of experience in cloud, DevOps, or systems operations environments.

• Working knowledge of container technologies, orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes), and Linux-based operating systems.

• Hands-on experience with the installation and upgrade of routers, switches, and firewalls (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).

• Basic understanding of quantum key distribution and encryption technologies is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of internet networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP.

• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to isolate and resolve technical faults effectively.

• Ability to document, review, and assess existing infrastructure to support operational stability, identify potential vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements.

• Proficiency in common office applications such as Excel, Visio, and Word.

• Experience managing vendors, service providers, and internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to develop, document, and implement policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for infrastructure management.
