Job description

Core Responsibilities

Manufacturing Execution System Customization Core Responsibilities: Customize and extend the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) (e.g., Client SeaTrack MES) to support new factory workflows and automation processes. Develop new MES modules or features as needed to accommodate automation specifics (for instance, tracking units through an ASRS or logging operations performed by robots). Ensure the MES orchestrates effectively with all connected automation: implement business rules so that events from equipment (e.g. a test pass/fail signal or a robot operation completion) trigger appropriate MES transactions, and conversely ensure the MES issues commands/instructions to devices when required. Configure data retention and traceability settings in MES to store necessary production historyfor compliance and analysis.

Must Have Skills

Strong experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems in a production environment – understanding how MES manages production orders, workflows, and equipment integration. Ability to develop or script MES customizations (via coding, configuration, or using MES APIs) to adapt the system to new equipment and process flows. Proficiency in integrating MES with shop-floor devices or intermediary software using REST APIs, SOAP web services, or message queues to enable real-time bi-directional communication. Solid SQL skills for querying and maintaining the MES database, ensuring performance and data integrity as transaction volumes grow.

Good to Have Skills

Experience with a specific MES platform’s extensibility (for example, having configured SeaTrack or similar MES for a new factory). Familiarity with manufacturing process concepts like lot genealogy, WIP tracking, and production routing to accurately map physical processes to MES logic. Exposure to linking MES with higher-level enterprise systems (ERP, Quality systems), to maintain end-to-end data consistency.
