Job summary

A healthcare staffing agency in Singapore is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine laboratory tests and maintain laboratory instruments. Candidates must have a relevant Bachelor's degree and a certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology. Prior experience in a clinical laboratory is advantageous. The role involves ensuring the accuracy of results and supporting departmental operations.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine laboratory tests (manual and automated) with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.

  • Maintain proper inventory of laboratory supplies, equipment, and a clean, organized workspace.

  • Monitor and review QC results daily, troubleshoot issues, and escalate to section managers when required.

  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, reporting malfunctions promptly and supporting preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Support departmental needs through shift duties, training of new staff, participation in QA programs, CME activities, and interdepartmental collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Recognised Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent.

  • Recognised Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology or Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in clinical Laboratory will be advantageous.

  • Possess good analytical skills and work well under pressure.
