Job summary

A leading marine research institute in Singapore seeks a Specialist Associate to assist in maintaining and managing seawater aquaria systems at St John's Island National Marine Laboratory. The role includes general maintenance, supporting researchers, and performing animal husbandry. Candidates should have a NITEC/NTC 2/Diploma, strong technical skills, and a keen interest in marine biology. Good communication skills and a positive attitude are essential. This position requires offshore work and the ability to swim.

Qualifications

  • Minimum NITEC/ NTC 2/ Diploma in relevant field, preferably Electrical/Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Must be able to read and interpret circuit drawings.
  • First aider experience and Class 3 driving licence would be useful.

Responsibilities

  • General maintenance of seawater aquaria systems.
  • Provide technical support to researchers.
  • Perform animal husbandry and decontamination procedures.

Skills

Basic hands-on technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical and piping works
Strong interest in marine biology
Good communication skills
