Job Description

As the Manager of Academic Management and Operations (AMO) at NTUpreneur, the incumbent plays a pivotal role in overseeing academic administration and programme execution to ensure the smooth delivery of NTU’s Second Major in Entrepreneurship (SMiE) and Minor in Entrepreneurship (MiE). Reporting to the Assistant Director, Lead, Academic Learning (Undergraduate Programmes), this position is responsible for academic planning, curriculum coordination, and operational efficiency within NTUpreneur’s undergraduate offerings.

The role ensures effective academic governance, contributes to curriculum development and enhancement, and facilitates seamless academic operations to support students in their learning journey. This includes managing curriculum reviews, overseeing course approvals, ensuring policy compliance, and optimising academic processes. The incumbent will work closely with faculty, university offices, and joint programme partners to maintain high academic standards and drive continuous improvements in programme structure and delivery.

This role also involves liaising with faculty, university departments, and external academic stakeholders to ensure alignment with NTU’s academic policies and best practices. The Manager, AMO will also oversee process enhancements in course administration, faculty coordination, and academic submissions, ensuring that NTUpreneur’s undergraduate programmes remain academically rigourous, well-structured, and aligned with the university’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Academic Planning and Programme Management
  • Develop and implement academic initiatives, policies, and guidelines to ensure good governance.
  • Oversee planning, management, and coordination of SMiE and MiE.
  • Develop and implement academic operational initiatives, policies, and guidelines to ensure good governance.
  • Initiate inter-school collaborations and curriculum enhancements.
  • Oversee execution of university-wide academic initiatives and strategic plans.
2. Manage Academic Programme Operations
  • Oversee and monitor student enrolments, withdrawals, and academic progress.
  • Manage programme and course administration such as:
    • Academic proposal submissions
    • Timetable scheduling
    • Instructor engagement and deployment
    • Instructor appreciation
    • Course registration
    • Teaching facilities and logistics
    • Results review and processing
    • Ensure proper setup of course sites (NTULearn)
    • Student Feedback in Teaching (SFT) and instructor evaluation
    • Student progression tracking
    • Student advisory (academic)
  • Coordinate with Office of Academic Services (OAS) on candidature matters eg. verify SMiE and MiE awards for graduation.
  • Manage course approvals, submissions, and course mapping for outbound exchanges for students across the University.
  • Oversee inbound exchange students with course selections and approvals.
3. Ensure Academic Governance & Policy Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to NTU’s academic guidelines, practices, policies, and university-wide regulations.
  • Review and implement academic policy updates periodically or when required, ensuring all curriculum changes and practices are aligned with NTU’s framework.
  • Develop and maintain processes to track curriculum compliance, course approvals, and regulatory adherence.
4. Strengthen Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the liaison between faculty, NTU administration, and Joint Programme Partners.
  • Manage relationships with academic partners, industry associations, and professional bodies to enhance programme offerings.
  • Collaborate with faculty and external stakeholders to support cross-disciplinary entrepreneurship education.
5. Drive Process Improvement & Quality Assurance
  • Conduct regular curriculum reviews and teaching evaluations to maintain programme excellence.
  • Review and optimise academic workflows and operational processes.
  • Ensure adherence to academic integrity, governance, and quality standards.
  • Implement best practices to improve efficiency in academic operations.
6. Spearhead Publicity & Course Development
  • Lead collaborations with the Student Engagement and Development (SED) arm to execute marketing strategies to increase enrolment for SMiE, MiE, and elective courses.
  • Work with academic leadership to analyse student demand and design/develop new/enhanced credit-bearing courses.
  • Oversee process of recruitment and engagement of faculty and instructors.
  • Collaborate with SED to implement outreach initiatives to promote NTUpreneur’s academic programmes.
7. Manage Team Leadership & Budget Planning
  • Lead and mentor the academic management team to ensure high performance.
  • Develop and monitor budget allocations for academic operations.
  • Prepare and present reports for management and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the team meets annual performance targets and strategic goals.
Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with at least 6 years of experience in academic administration, programme management, or higher education operations.
  • Strong background in faculty coordination, curriculum development, and academic policy implementation.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, ensuring smooth academic operations and effective collaboration with faculty and instructors.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills to handle multiple academic processes efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to assess programme performance, policy implications, and operational improvements.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in academic records, reporting, and policy implementation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and academic management systems.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, University and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable, capable of working independently and within a team in a fast-paced academic environment.
