Job Summary

The Licensed Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising, performing, and certifying electrical installation, maintenance, and testing works at construction sites in compliance with EMA regulations, project specifications, and safety standards.

Essential Job Functions

The Licensed Electrical Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Plan, supervise, and carry out electrical installation and maintenance works on site.
  • Ensure electrical work complies with the relevant regulatory frameworks and safety standards, such as those set by the Energy Market Authority (EMA).
  • Responsible for certifying electrical work and issuing necessary reports, such as testing and commissioning reports, as required by regulations.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions for electrical faults or system enhancements.
  • Oversee site temporary power supply setup and ensure safe operation of electrical equipment.
  • Maintain proper records of electrical works, test results, and maintenance logs.
  • Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and authorities for electrical inspections and approvals.
  • Be involved in the design and consulting of electrical systems, providing expert evaluations and suggestions to improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Supervise and guide electricians and site teams to ensure proper execution of electrical works.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement safety measures for electrical installations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Other ad-hoc duties assigned by management or reporting manager.
Minimum Qualifications / Job Experience
  • Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) certified by EMA (Grade 7, 8, or 9).
  • NITEC / Diploma in Electrical or Power Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction or infrastructure projects, prefer work experience in Singapore.
  • Good knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and site practices.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and single-line diagrams.
  • Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
