Job description

We are looking for a hands‑on and organised Lab/Research Officer to help keep our newly setup academic research lab running smoothly. This role is a mix of lab support and admin work, with some involvement in research tasks where needed.

Main Responsibilities
  • Generation and maintenance of cell lines.
  • Perform molecular assays e.g. cell culture, drug screening, cell viability assays, ELISA, Western blotting, flow cytometry and microscopy.
  • Involved in studies involving the Seahorse &/or Macsima equipments.
  • Assist in optimization and troubleshooting of experimental protocols.
  • Drafting SOPs and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and updated experimental records and documentation.
  • Assist in data collation for presentations, reports, and publications.
  • Prepare common lab reagents and buffers.
  • Assist with lab operational duties, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • General lab housekeeping duties.
Requirements
  • Degree in Life Sciences or related field.
  • Experience with Seahorse or Macsima equipments, tissue culture and molecular techniques is a plus.
  • Keen interest in paediatric cancer research and willingness to learn.
  • Safety-conscious and willing to learn.
  • Able to work both independently and with a team.
  • Good communication skills.
