Role Overview
  • Location: Singapore (hybrid)
  • Reporting to: Sarah Campbell, Global Head of Research
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the research team for the Asia‑Pacific region (excluding India/Sri Lanka), with four direct reports.
  • Ensure that the quality of the data and reports in the AP region meets agreed standards.
  • Research the key markets of Australia and New Zealand, delivering to agreed timelines and quality standards, ensuring these reports represent benchmark data sets and analysis for the IWSR.
  • Compile the Australia component of IWSR’s Strategic Study Series, including Ecommerce, No‑Low Alcohol and Ready‑to‑Drink studies.
  • Ensure all the Asia‑Pacific reports are delivered on time, both for the core database research cycle, and also for the half‑year update and relevant strategic studies.
  • Resourcing: ensure sufficient research resources within the Asia‑Pacific team to meet current and upcoming requirements; recruit and train new researchers, allowing sufficient time for training and orientation prior to key research periods.
  • Act as the main point of escalation for client queries in AP and ensure that there is sufficient Research Director focus, plus country researcher backup on client queries for the region.
  • Be a member of the research leadership team, attending IWSR strategy sessions and research planning sessions.
  • Be IWSR’s thought leader for the AP region, and the main point of contact for press and PR. Deliver internal and external presentations on the region; delegate thought leadership and PR to research team members in AP as appropriate.
  • Support the Commercial Director for AP, and the AP sales team in building client relationships, according to agreed protocols between sales and research, and ensuring that the regional research team also works to these protocols; attend key events and client meetings as requested by the sales team.
  • Work with the Consulting team to provide appropriate research team resources for consulting projects in the AP region, ensuring that the work is delivered to the CA team on time and to agreed quality standards.
  • Support the Consulting team in finding additional freelance research resources to deliver any projects in AP where existing resources are unavailable due to workload.
Experience / Requirements
  • Business fluent in English (essential).
  • 5+ years of research and analysis experience within beverage alcohol or FMCG organisations and/or business information/consulting organisations.
  • 3+ years of management experience and strong people skills.
  • Expert‑level data analysis and insight skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Highly organised, able to manage time efficiently while working on multiple projects, simultaneously.
  • Comfortable and confident in client‑facing scenarios.
  • A full, clean driving license is required for this role.
  • Candidates requiring an Employment Pass (EP) will be considered.
