We are looking for an experienced and innovative Head of Product (Haircare) / Chemist to lead the development and management of our haircare portfolio. This role combines scientific formulation expertise with product strategy, ensuring our products meet consumer needs, regulatory standards, and brand vision.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Leadership
- Define and drive the product roadmap for the haircare category.
- Identify market trends, consumer needs, and competitive insights to guide product development.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with R&D, marketing, supply chain, and commercial teams.
- Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation, formulation, testing, launch, and post-launch improvements.
Research & Formulation
- Develop and optimize innovative haircare formulations (shampoos, conditioners, treatments, serums, etc.).
- Research and evaluate raw materials, active ingredients, and new technologies.
- Ensure formulations deliver proven efficacy, safety, and sensory performance.
- Conduct and oversee laboratory trials, stability testing, and scale-up processes.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure all products comply with cosmetic regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation, ASEAN guidelines).
- Maintain accurate product dossiers, claims substantiation, and safety assessments.
- Liaise with third-party labs and regulatory authorities as needed.
Quality & Innovation
- Implement quality control standards across formulation and manufacturing.
- Conduct performance and consumer testing to validate product claims.
- Stay updated on industry innovations and emerging ingredients in hair science and cosmetic chemistry.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven track record (8+ years) in haircare formulation and/or product development.
- Deep knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, formulation science, and raw material functionality.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in key markets.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
