The Head Coach is responsible for providing overall leadership, direction, and technical oversight of the club’s swimming programme. This role focuses on developing elite and developmental youth athletes through a structured, high-quality Daily Training Environment (DTE), while mentoring coaches and ensuring alignment with long-term athlete development principles. The Head Coach plays a key role in athlete performance, character development, and programme sustainability.
Ensure that all training programmes, athlete pathways, and competition plans are
Plan and formulate annual, seasonal, and cyclical training plans for all squads within the club.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and supervision to coaches at all levels.
Ensure consistency and progression in coaching methodology, training standards, and athlete expectations.
Support competition preparation, race strategies, and post-competition reviews.
Develop and implement training cycles and frameworks for coaches of different experience levels within the club.
Support coach education, professional development, and performance evaluation.
Foster a collaborative team culture while encouraging initiative and accountability among coaching staff.
Promote strong values, discipline, sportsmanship, and character development among student-athletes.
Ensure safeguarding, welfare, and duty-of-care standards are upheld at all times.
Work closely with stakeholders to support the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
Demonstrate strong planning, administrative, and organisational skills in managing training schedules, competitions, and programme logistics.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, club management, schools, and external stakeholders.
Use data analytics and performance tracking tools to inform training decisions and programme improvements.
