We are a fast-growing Fintech company serving customers in over 100 countries globally, with plans for a Nasdaq listing within the next couple of years. We are looking for a Finance leader who can guide the financial systems that empower us. The Group Financial Controller (GFC) has a key role in ensuring the company’s financial health by overseeing all financial planning and analysis activities. He or She will be responsible for financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, internal control, and financial reporting to management and the board of directors.

This role has the potential to groom into a CFO position.

Objectives of this role
  • Take responsibility for all financial reporting and budgeting, and help drive the company’s financial strategy.
  • Coordinate the development of annual operating, capital, and programme budgets, as well as reporting for the same.
  • Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet agile organisation that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.
  • Comply with US and Singapore national and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and taking appropriate action.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions, including financial and management reporting, treasury, compliance, taxation, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Work closely with the CEO, providing reporting and advisory support on the Group’s financial performance.
  • Manage audit, tax, and corporate secretarial matters across all Group companies.
  • Ensure timely compliance with statutory, SGX, accounting, tax reporting, and disclosure requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals.
  • Analyse internal operations, including the ERP and accounting system, to ensure adequate and accurate recording of financial data and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure internal controls and improve financial performance.
  • Prepare detailed month-end reports for management, including P&L, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Develop a process to monitor business performance with tracking tools, including tools to track product costs and key accounts profitability.
  • Work with business and functional leaders to develop a budget process and forecast for all business units and divisions, as well as tracking tools to report budget variances on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant local and overseas regulatory entities, including the Singapore and U.S. Financial Accounting Standards Boards, tax, and other regulatory authorities.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent university degree in accounting or finance. Professional certification, such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
  • 10-15 years of experience in financial management with a focus on financial planning, budgeting, and control.
  • Excellent communication skill in English and Chinese language.
  • Prior experience with initial public listing process, especially with regards to the Nasdaq listing, will be a key advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
