Job description
What a Experience Designer does at HP:

We are looking for a highly skilled Experience Designer with both User Experience (UX) + Industrial Design (ID) capabilities to join our award-winning Global Experience Design team in Singapore. In this role, you will design holistic & innovative user journeys beyond hardware that seamlessly connect physical hardware touchpoints, digital interfaces and software ecosystems - ensuring consistency, usability, and brand cohesion across all interactions.

You are a hands-on, detail-oriented designer who applies user-centered design principles to craft future innovations, intuitive workflows, engaging interactions, and tangible prototypes. You will interpret research insights, translate findings into actionable design outcomes, and work across disciplines to bring experiences to life.

Cross-Touchpoint Experience Design
  • Creation of compelling immersive future hardware & software design concepts, product use cases, innovation, user interface & user experience design, proof-of-concept prototypes.
  • Design end-to-end user journeys spanning mobile apps, web, embedded UI, AI apps, and physical product interactions.
  • Storyboarding, sketches, mock-ups, low & hi-fidelity visuals & animations, high-quality presentations, market-ready assets.
  • Ensure touchpoint coherence across digital workflows, hardware interfaces, packaging, and service moments.
  • Apply established design principles and align solutions with HP’s experience strategy and global design system.
Interaction & Prototyping
  • Build interactive prototypes for physical/hardware-based interactions, digital screens and hybrid triggers (QR/NFC/IoT events).
  • Create low- to high-fidelity prototypes that communicate system behaviour, motion, and physical affordances.
  • Develop hardware mock-ups or conceptual rigs to simulate physical and digital interactions.
Research & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with User Research teams to gather insights from field studies, ethnographic research, contextual inquiry, and usability testing.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other designers, project managers, and marketing colleagues from diverse cultures and backgrounds to integrate technology into meaningful experiences.
  • Communicate design ideas, concepts and strategies clearly and effectively to team members and partners. Communicate with stakeholders with guidance from managers.
  • Design Implementation: Produce outstanding designs & visuals that communicate clearly with a visual design language that is consistent with HP brand.
  • Resourceful: Create great designs & prototypes with minimal time and resources.
Qualifications
  • Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, User Experience, or equivalent creative discipline.
  • 0-1 years of professional experience in design environment. Ideally involving both hardware industrial design and software user experience design.
  • Self-starter: take on design projects with minimum guidance in Hybrid work environment. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proactive in arranging review meetings with managers in a timely manner. Engage with other teammembers, management and partners.
  • Responsibility of the time management of the projects: Plan and manage project schedules independently. Detail-oriented and highly organized. Complete Deliverables on or before pre-determined deadlines.
  • Desire for continual learning and self-improvement. Curiosity & energy to learn new tools and to participate in off-cycle innovation projects beyond own expertise. Produce high quality output in disciplines outside of visual design.
  • Tools:
    • Figma (design systems, interaction prototypes)
    • Miro (journey mapping, service blueprints)
    • 3D CAD tools such as Rhino / SolidWorks / Creo
    • Rendering tools such as KeyShot, Vizcom
    • Bonus: Tools for AI prototyping or experience in vibe coding
