Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Singapore is seeking an experienced candidate for a supervisory role in the Precision Engineering sector. Responsibilities include technical reviews of project orders, ensuring timely document submissions, and providing guidance to engineering teams. Candidates require a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Instrumentation Engineering along with 6-8 years in Valve Automation or related fields. Strong knowledge of relevant standards, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years supervisory experience in Valve Automation and/or instrumentation.
• Conversant with ISO 12490 / API 6DX / IOGP S-707 / SHELL DEP standards.
• Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical reviews on project orders and assignments.
• Ensure timely submission of various engineering documents.
• Manage engineering change functions and updates.
• Provide guidance to engineers on technical queries.
• Attend meetings to discuss project specifications.
• Support operations in resolving technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Technical review on new project orders and order assignments to Technical Engineer & Drafter team.
• Ensure timely submission of engineering documents i.e. Control Schematic Drawing, General Assembly Drawing, Wiring Diagram, Nameplate Drawing, Test Procedure, Data Sheet etc.
• Review all project engineering documents before submitting them to client.
• Manage engineering change function and ensure engineering documents are updated accordingly.
• Provide advice and guidance to Technical Engineer & Drafter team for any technical queries and to support other ops team on various aspects of technical/engineering matters.
• To check and make recommendations based on common industrial engineering practice, where necessary.
• To provide and implement cost effective and best engineering solutions for project to stay competitive.
• To provide sound engineering practice and engineering calculation where applicable in a timely manner to meet project timeline.
• To review international standards and/or project specifications for product compliance. i.e. ISO 12490 / API 6DX / IOGP S-707 / SHELL DEP standards or other industrial standards related to Valve Automation and/or instrumentation.
• Providing field support for customers to resolve after-sales technical issues or technical clarifications.
• To attend internal/external kick off Meeting (KOM) when required.
• Travel with technicians to installation base and sites if the need arises.
• To assist manager to lead the department’s improvement programs and/or process efficiency initiatives.
• To assist manager in maintaining and updating the department's Standard Operating Procedures.
• To carry out Engineering personnel annual performance review to ensure competency and give counselling when required.
• Support new employee orientation by providing brief engineering department process flow training.
• Support Operations department in resolving aftermarket technical issues such as Product Design changes / Fault Finding / Supplier Discrepancies.
• Support development and upkeep of staff technical competency and training management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 6-8 years supervisory experience in Valve Automation and/or instrumentation background.
• Conversant with ISO 12490 / API 6DX / IOGP S-707 / SHELL DEP standards or other industrial standards related to Valve Automation and/or instrumentation.
• Possess a strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D or drafting software & SAP will be an added advantage.
• Familiar and possess intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365
• Very self-driven and able to drive the team.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and can work as a team.
