Job description
Overview

The Dental Service Assistant (Clinical) is responsible for performing chair side assisting tasks including patient care, transferring of instruments, setting up equipment and preparing dental materials for dental treatment. The DSA is required to support the clinic coordinator to uphold and ensure the smooth function of the dental clinic.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist Dentists
    • Prepare the treatment room for dental treatment
    • Ensure patient’s records are organized and ready for the dentist before the arrival of patients
    • Chaperon dentists whenever required
    • Patient care education after dental procedures
  2. Maintain high level of infection control in the dental clinic at all times
    • Clean and sterilize all used instruments
    • Maintain the facilities in the sterilization room
    • Replenish of stocks in the sterilization room
  3. Ensure the proper opening and closing of dental clinics
    • Check electricity/water/compressor switch on at the beginning of day and off at end of session
    • Clean and disinfect dental chair before and after each patient
    • Clean and disinfect dental chair at the end of the day
  4. Ensure that dental laboratory cases are being processed and the cases are returned at least 1 day earlier before patient’s actual appointment
  5. Able to assist dentist in dental charting and medical history during dental examination
Job Responsibilities - General
  • Be attentive to patients and direct patient’s feedback to clinic coordinator/clinic manager
  • Assist Clinic Coordinator or Cluster Manager in ad-hoc admin matters, minute-taking for meetings & etc
  • Assist Clinic Coordinator or Cluster Manager with monthly stock take
Job Requirements
  • Minimum GCE ‘N’ / ‘O’ Levels, with 1 - 2 years of working experience in dental clinics
  • Proficient in English and knowledge of other languages or dialects will be advantageous
  • Good interpersonal skills with a pleasant disposition
  • Applicants must be service-oriented with a passion for the dental/healthcare industry
  • You must be able to work shift hours/on weekends & Public Holidays
  • Candidates with more experience will be considered for the Dental Service Officer position
