Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Data Analytics Senior Lead Engineer (Senior Vice President) for our Big Data and Data Analytics team. This leadership role is critical for driving our data strategy, overseeing the development and implementation of advanced analytics solutions, and managing a team of data professionals. The successful candidate will leverage extensive experience in big data technologies, data warehousing, business intelligence, and advanced analytics to deliver actionable insights that drive business growth and operational efficiency. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership capabilities to foster a data-driven culture and achieve organizational objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the strategic roadmap for big data and data analytics initiatives, aligning with overall business objectives.
  • Strategic Leadership: Identify opportunities to leverage data for competitive advantage, innovation, and enhanced decision-making across the organization.
  • Strategic Leadership: Translate complex business problems into data analytics solutions and strategic programs.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists, data engineers, business intelligence analysts, and other data professionals.
  • Team Management & Development: Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Team Management & Development: Manage resource allocation, performance reviews, and career development plans for team members.
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of scalable big data platforms, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Drive the implementation of advanced analytics, machine learning models, and predictive analytics solutions.
  • Solution Design & Implementation: Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all data initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with various business units (e.g., product, marketing, operations, finance) to understand their data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership effectively.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Technology & Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging big data technologies, analytics trends, and industry best practices.
  • Technology & Innovation: Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, and methodologies to enhance our data capabilities.
  • Technology & Innovation: Champion innovation in data collection, processing, storage, and analysis.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for data analytics initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal security policies.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring successful execution of all data projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Experience
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in big data, data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing and growing large teams of data professionals (data scientists, data engineers, BI analysts).
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
Technical Skills
  • Strong awareness of data tools and platforms like Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Kafka, Flink.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS) including services like Redshift, Snowflake, Starburst, S3, Dataiku.
  • Strong expertise in data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Spark, Scala, or Java for data analysis and model development.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Cognos).
  • Good working knowledge of Batch job management using Autosys, data modelling (physical and logical) and awareness of data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra).

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in the financial services industry or a heavily regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices and deploying machine learning models into production.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms or data analytics technologies.
