Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, meticulous, and responsible Data Analyst to work closely with a team of experienced researchers and the clinical team in health system, services innovation, and novel surgical technologies research. You will be part of a holistic clinical and health services research team whose mission is to improve clinical outcomes for patients undergoing major surgery.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Design and create a data pipeline that meets the pre-specified needs and requirements of projects and maintains its proper function.

  • Gathering data from various sources and organizing it for analysis

  • Performing statistical and data analysis techniques to generate insights from the data

  • Data quality control – Ensuring accuracy and completeness of data through data validation and cleaning

  • Apply data science/machine learning methods to analyse large datasets

  • Performing descriptive analysis to facilitate initial data investigation

  • Summarising and presenting exploratory data analysis results to stakeholders

  • Developing/Building a technical AI development plan based on the research question (include machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, deep learning models)

  • Analysis Report Generation: Producing reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations

  • Data Visualization: Creating visual representations of data to effectively communicate insights

  • Preparation of presentation slides and posters for submission to local and international conferences

  • Performs other duties as directed by PI

Job requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, and Information Systems, Soft Engineering or any related computational disciplines or equivalent.

  • Advanced proficiency in Python, R, Java code writing

  • Hands‑on experience with SQL database design

  • Extensive knowledge of AI/machine learning frameworks, libraries, data structures, data modelling, and software architecture.

  • Familiarity with healthcare database management systems and processes as well as healthcare data governance policies and regulation will be an advantage.

  • Experience in handling/processing/manipulation/analytics, ideally of both structured and non‑structured image based data

  • An analytical problem solver: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, and ability to work with incomplete or imperfect data.

  • An effective team player: to collaborate with members of inter‑professional functions, effectively contribute and be adaptive within multidisciplinary teams

  • Passion to contribute and develop a career in the healthcare analytics and health services research arena.

  • Passionate about clinical and health service research to bring about positive impact to patients with advanced cancers.
