Responsibilities
  • Attend to customer, agent enquiries & complaints
  • Carrier negotiation & booking
  • Check sailing schedule and cargo status
  • Arrange trucking and stuffing
  • Prepare shipping documents for export & import (FCL, LCL , Cross Trade, Air Freight etc)
  • Assist in bill of lading (BL), certificates of origin (COO), cargo insurance, PM4, SI, MSDS and other cargo acceptance documentation
  • Co-ordinate & monitor shipment with carriers and clients
  • Process custom clearance & permit if needed
  • Send pre alert shipping documents & invoice to customer
  • Liaise with accounts dept to make payment to carriers
  • Verify vendor invoices with job no. to accounts dept for payment processing
  • Reporting of cargo issues
  • Support in all aspect of sales and operational activities
  • Assist in job closing and billing when required
  • General admin duties and other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
  • At least Nitec/Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management/Shipping or equivalent
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to develop strong working relationships (both internal and external)
  • Good problem-solving skills and able to work under pressure
  • Well-organized, willing to learn, able to work in fast pace environment
  • Able to work independently or in a team-based environment
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, Portnet, Customs Permit
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in the import/export freight forwarding industry. Training is provided
  • Bilingual in English, Mandarin to liaise with mandarin speaking associates
  • Prior experience with freight/shipping customer service would be advantageous
  • Full-Time permanent position
