Purpose of the role
A team player in both developing external communication plans and supporting communications across business units, strengthening corporate reputation, leadership positioning and stakeholder engagement through smart use of social and AI tools.
Scope of the role
The scope requires an understanding of media and employee relations from strategy to execution, including stakeholder relations and brand reputation management, deploying social intelligence to inform decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute media campaigns and employee engagement activities to convey Mediacorp's corporate narratives, and identify opportunities to build visibility across platforms and priority communities.
- Serve as brand guardian to ensure all internal and external communications are conveyed in a consistent way that reflects our corporate values and image.
- Enhance stakeholder relations with local and regional media, government, industry and community partners, maintaining tiering and influence maps, and developing speaking pipelines and leadership materials such as speeches, talking points and op-eds, aligned to corporate priorities.
- Support team for protocol matters, including drafting administrative briefs and coordinating events involving political office holders and international dignitaries.
- Plan and execute CSR campaigns and activities for external stakeholders and internal staff engagement, positioning Mediacorp as a Company of Good, Partner of Choice and Employer of Choice.
- Engage in active media monitoring and social listening to pre-empt, manage and address perceptions that might impact Mediacorp, including early issue detection and escalation. Keep concise incident logs and coordinate holding lines and FAQs.
- Build and support an earned creator network to extend reach beyond traditional platforms, preparing social‑friendly kits and backgrounders for credible independent creators.
- Analyse and report the effectiveness of PR_, social and internal activities using basic dashboards and weekly signal summaries to inform outreach and content angles.
- Use AI‑assisted research, summarisation, monitoring and rapid content testing in governed workflows, documenting repeatable steps that lift clarity, speed and quality.
Functional Competencies
- Familiarity with internal and external communication trends and platforms, with strong writing and editing across formats.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing proactive media and public relations programmes, handling damage control and crisis management.
- Proven ability to support overall communications strategies, message development and corporate positioning, including leadership materials and change‑comms alignment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills with media, partners and internal senior management.
- Working fluency with social listening and insight tools, and the ability to translate data into actions and recommendations.
- Comfortable using AI tools for monitoring, summarisation and drafting, with disciplined documentation for governed workflows.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, organised and proactive, able to work to tight timelines and follow projects through from concept to completion. Must be a team player.
Experience
3 to 5 years of relevant working experience, ideally with direct corporate communications experience in large / complex organisations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
