Job description
As a Claims Manager (Reinsurance), you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Prepare and deliver claims reports for senior management and head office review.
  • Oversee all team‑managed claim bookings, ensuring adherence to delegated authority limits.
  • Evaluate complex and disputed claims, making informed decisions on coverage, reserving, and settlement.
  • Interpret and apply policy wordings across multiple lines of business, including property & casualty, engineering, and marine cargo.
  • Lead and mentor the team to enhance overall claims expertise and operational competency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as cedants, brokers, insurers, reinsurers, consultants, and external experts to collaboratively resolve claims.
  • Ensure claims handling processes are in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Compile and present claims data to support both internal reviews and external audits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or discipline.
  • Possession of professional qualifications such as ACII, ANZIIF, CILA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance claims, including prior experience in team leadership or management.
